Beatrix's Halloween Sweet Shoppe

I began working on Beatrix's Halloween Sweet Shoppe in the spring of 2024. I suspended work on the 1:12 scale room box, in the winter, to work on other holiday inventory and get ready for an upcoming dollhouse show.

I resumed work in the summer of 2025. It took months to fill the bakery cases with mini handmade polymer clay desserts, and the shelves with an assortment of Halloween candy jars. I put the finishing touches on the project in mid-October 2025.

I'm happy to finally be able to say, welcome to Beatrix's (mini) Sweet Shop!

I purchased the unfinished roombox kit from Miniature Crush. This photo was taken after I painted the outside of the box with purple and black chalk paint. I didn't permanently assemble the room box. It's loosely fitted together using museum putty, because it will make re-papering the walls easier if I decide to use it for a different future project. *I've also seen this same unfinished room box available through Amazon.

I added a mulberry paper flower spray beneath each shop window. This window features a 3 tier, handmade polymer clay dessert tray and a tiny Halloween gingerbread house.

I made a cauldron of haunted cocoa from resin and topped it with tiny polymer clay ghosts. I designed some of the labels used for the Halloween sweets jars, but others were wonderful digital graphics purchased from Chocolate Rabbit, Starr Mountain Primitives and Crows Feet Bootique. Many of the boxes are printables from KB and Friends and Cooper Station. At the bottom of the page, I include links to these Etsy shops.

Once I was happy with the exterior paint, I sealed it with polyurethane and added some painted silver accents. Above is the finished room box. I made orange and black striped (wire ribbon) curtains for the windows and they are also accented with flag bunting.

I used UV resin to adhere the acrylic windows to the wood frame.

The walls are lined with framed ads for the different varieties of Halloween treats sold in the shop.

A wooden 3 tiered stand is topped with a handmade polymer clay moon pail filled with lollipops. The shelves are stacked with tiny sweets jars and boxes. The labels on the tiny jars are graphic files from KB and Friends.

Two handmade polymer clay pumpkin topiaries frame the shop's door. A tiny toad occupies a witch's chair. The door mat promises "Wickedly Good Treats." I made the mat using a sheet of cork with a Cricut-cut vinyl design. The top of the door has a garland of Czech glass beads from Orange Grove Beads.

A vintage Bespaq serving cart showcases some of the sweets the shop has to offer, tempting goblins and ghouls to step inside the shop.

The bakery case is topped with a handmade frog candy dispenser and a holder featuring UV resin lollipops. The adorable gift bags were made from a digital file from Snark Heart. Most of the mini desserts and decor are available for purchase in the Halloween section of my handmade shop.

I scupted the tiny vintage-style pails from polymer clay, then painted them, and added wire handles. The handmade lollipops are secured to the interior of the pails using air dry clay.

Bags of mini cotton candy hang from a hook on the shop walls. The adorable Black Cat Licorice label is a printable from Starr Mountain Primitives.

The adorable bunting was made from a digital file from Snark Heart. For the wreath, I painted a small sisal wreath orange, then added a handmade polymer clay moon accent, glass pearls and candies.

The pumpkin and cat pails already found new homes, but I'm keeping the moon pail to use for the Real Good Toys, Painted Lady dollhouse I'm restoring into a gothic "Witchy Lady".
